Albany to be powered by wave energy

Albany would become a 100 per cent renewable powered town using wave energy, in WA Labor's latest election promise.

Wave technology company Carnegie Clean Energy would be part of the project if Labor wins the election and its CEO Mike Ottaviano said he was targeting 100 per cent renewable for Albany within two to three years.

Labor leader Mark McGowan committed $19.5 million that he said would be reallocated from a dumped Albany to Bunbury gas pipeline plan.

Albany's population is about 34,000 and is WA's sixth biggest town.
