A-G won't meet Rayney over wife's death

Western Australia's attorney-general sees no reason to meet Lloyd Rayney to discuss his calls for an inquest into the death of his estranged wife Corryn.

Mr Rayney, once a prominent barrister, is calling for a cold case investigation into his wife's murder, of which he was acquitted in November 2012.

A spokeswoman for Attorney-General Michael Mischin said he had not met Mr Rayney and saw no reason to do so.

Last week, opposition spokesman John Quigley called for WA's new coroner to convene an inquest to allow concerns about the police investigation to be "properly ventilated".

But Mr Quigley stopped short of supporting an inquest, saying it was a matter for police.

Ms Rayney, a former Supreme Court registrar and mother of two, went missing on August 7, 2007, after her weekly bootscooting class and was found buried in Perth's Kings Park on August 16.
