Vow to continue push for MH17 justice

Russia has been accused of obstructing justice by using its veto power to block a United Nations resolution that would have established an international criminal tribunal into the downing of MH17.

Speaking after the vote in New York on Thursday (AEST), representatives from Malaysia, Ukraine, The Netherlands, Belgium and Australia, slammed the move by Russia - one of five permanent members with veto power - and vowed to maintain efforts to bring to justice those responsible.

"The outcome of today's debate will not deter us in our resolve to obtain justice," Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said at the join media conference held after the vote.
