Victorian woman fined for eating breakfast while driving in Benalla

A Victorian woman has been slapped with a hefty fine for scoffing down her breakfast while driving in a town north east of Melbourne.

The 46-year-old woman was allegedly using her knees to steer, while holding a plate in one hand and a fork in the other, as she drove down the Hume Freeway in Benalla.

Benalla Highway Patrol officers stopped the woman in a black Holden station wagon about 8.40am.

She was issued a $248 fine for failing to have full and proper control of a vehicle.
