Victorian state election 2018: How to best stay up to date today

The day of the Victorian state election has arrived, and Nine News has you fully covered with all the breaking news, big moments, results, swings, analysis and calculations on air and online.

9news.com.au’s live blog will begin early in the afternoon and 9News Melbourne starting comprehensive coverage from 5pm. Not near a television? You will also be able to follow a livestream of the 9News Election coverage online.

As polling booths close at 6pm, Peter Hitchener (@phitchener9) will present a special bulletin with reporters stationed in crucial electorates across the state.

After the 9News Melbourne bulletin, Tony Jones (@TJch9)  and Alicia Loxley (@alicialoxley) will deliver the first results of how the state voted in an exclusive Galaxy election-day poll.

Joining them on the panel will be Nine News’ Chief Political Editor, Chris Uhlmann (@CUhlmann), and State Political Reporter, Andrew Lund (@andrew_lund).  

3AW’s Neil Mitchell (@3AWNeilMitchell) will also be on hand, along with Minister for Police, Labor’s Lisa Neville, and Shadow Treasurer, Liberal’s Michael O’Brien.

Social media users will be able to have their say using the hashtag “#VICvotes”, which will direct feedback to the Megawall, presented by Brett McLeod. (@Brett_McLeod).

The state-of-the-art Megawall and election system will calculate preference flows and swings, and make winning projections for every seat in Victoria.
