A man who stopped to change a tyre beside a major highway has been struck and killed by a passing utility.
Police say the 56-year-old was pulled over on the Goulburn Valley Highway at Numurkah about 9.45pm last night and was hit from behind by the ute which had veered off the road.

A 53-year-old Shepparton man was arrested at the scene and is being questioned by police.
Victoria’s road toll now moves to 159, while the toll sat at 185 at the same time last year.
