Melbourne man in critical condition after balcony fall

A man has life-threatening head injuries after falling from a balcony in Melbourne.

A 36-year-old man fell from the third-storey balcony of a home in Ringwood about 10pm yesterday.

Paramedics arrived at the incident to discover the man in cardiac arrest with head injuries and a fractured leg.

He was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital where he is in a critical condition.

Police are investigating an assault and say a 30-year-old man is assisting police.
