'Destructive winds' of up to 130km/h could hit parts of Victoria tomorrow

A strong cold front moving towards Victoria is expected to bring destructive winds to parts of the state, prompting the Bureau of Meteorology to issue a severe weather warning.
Damaging winds, averaging 60 to 70km/h with peak gusts of 90 to 105km/h, are expected to develop in the western and central districts of Victoria tomorrow morning.
Winds of 80 to 90km/h, with peak gusts of 130km/h, are expected in the Alpine peaks tomorrow evening and through to Sunday morning, BoM said in a statement.
Melbourne is in the warning zone, along with Geelong, Ballarat, Kyneton, Hamilton, Stawell, Wonthaggi, Bacchus Marsh and Falls Creek.
The SES is advising people should:
- Move vehicles under cover or away from trees
- Secure or put away loose items around the house, yard or balcony
- Keep clear of fallen power lines
The BoM is expected to provide another update at 5pm.
