Two rescued by police helicopter after driving through floodwater

Two people have been rescued after their truck became submerged in floodwater near Geelong.

Police believe the truck became stranded in the water while attempting to cross the Moorabool River on Perdrisat Road in Maude about 12.40pm.

A 64-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman were winched from their truck by the Victoria Police helicopter.

Police say there were no injuries.

People are being urged not to drive through floodwater and re-consider travel on flood effected roads.
