Brisbane's Victoria Bridge delays expected to continue for next three days
A major roadway in Brisbane is expected to remain closed for the next three days as emergency works on a damaged high voltage power cable continue.
The major power line on Brisbane's Victoria Bridge was ruptured earlier this week, causing heavy delays for outbound traffic all day yesterday.
The power line is one of the city's highest-voltage cables.

On Tuesday night, a contractor undergoing boring works hit the 110,000-volt cable with a drill, causing a massive underground explosion.
Three of the cables run through Brisbane, powering much of the city, but authorities say power outages were avoided by the use of back-filling through other connections.
Yesterday, traffic was backed up around the Victoria Bridge as emergency work was carried out on outbound lanes of the road.
Energex will continue to repair the damaged high voltage cable in Melbourne Street outside QPAC.
Melbourne Street will remain closed and traffic travelling outbound from the city on Victoria Bridge will be detoured to the William Jolly Bridge via Elizabeth Street, George Street and Roma Street.
