Woman shot in south eastern Victoria

A woman in her 40s has been shot in Victoria's Gippsland region.

Emergency services were called to Bickertons Road, Glengarry North, just before 11pm and found a woman with a gunshot wound, police said.

She was taken to hospital in a stable condition with non-life threatening upper body injuries, Ambulance Victoria said.

A man was arrested at the scene.

Police believe parties are known to each other.
