Woman rescued as fire tears through Melbourne home

Firefighters have pulled a woman to safety during a house fire in Melbourne’s north this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Dallas Drive, Dallas, after smoke was seen coming from the home just after 2.40pm.

Crews from the Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) worked to control the blaze, forcing entry into the property to save a woman aged in her 20s who was semi-conscious.

She has since been taken to The Alfred Hospital suffering facial burns, Ambulance Victoria told 9News in a statement.

Her current condition is unknown at this stage.

It’s also unclear what sparked the fire.
