Two killed as car, motorbike crash in Melbourne

A woman and a man have died after a car and a motorcycle collided in Melbourne overnight.

Police were told the crash took place on the Nepean Highway, near Swanston Street in Mentone, at about 9.05pm.

A man and a woman who were on the motorcycle were both rushed to hospital, where the man later died.

The male driver of the car and his female passenger were also taken to hospital for treatment.

The female passenger later died as well.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
