Woman had 'med condition' before Vic crash

Victoria Police say an elderly woman who was thought to have been killed in a car crash actually died as a result of a "medical condition" that occurred before the collision.

The woman's car crossed the Bass Highway and slammed into another vehicle near Wonthaggi on Monday afternoon.

The victim, in her 80s, was initially added to Victoria's road toll but was removed on Tuesday morning with a police spokesperson stating "the woman's death is believed to be from a medical condition".
