Second body found after Vic woman's death

A 63-year-old man, wanted over a woman stabbed to death in Melbourne, has been found dead.

The St Albans man's body was found on Thursday afternoon, hours after the 50-year-old woman was found with life-threatening wounds at 12.30am before dying on the way to hospital.

The man was found after police launched a major investigation, with a large number of homicide squad detectives scouring the surrounding area and police searching bushes with torches.

Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the deaths, and will prepare a report for the coroner.

The two have yet to be identified.
