Woman dragged by Vic handbag thief

An elderly woman was knocked to the ground and then dragged about ten metres by a man who grabbed her handbag in Melbourne.

The 88-year-old was outside a shopping centre in Wantirna South on the afternoon of October 22 when a man snatched her bag and she tried to stop him from running off with it.

The thief was chased by a passer-by but escaped in a car and the woman suffered bruising, scratches and other minor injuries.
