Woman dies after Melbourne shooting

A woman has died and a man has life-threatening injuries after they were shot in Melbourne's inner west.

Emergency services were called to a home in Yarraville about 10.30am on Tuesday, where they found the dead woman and injured man, who was taken to hospital.

Another man, a 55-year-old from Altona North, has been taken to hospital under police guard with what appear to be gunshot wounds.

Police say the three people are known to each other and while police investigations continue, they are not looking for any other offenders.

The woman, 25, and man, 29, were both shot in the upper body outside a residential property, police said.
