Woman dies after car hits tree in Vic

A woman is dead after her car smashed into a tree in country Victoria.
Police believe the vehicle veered off a road and hit a tree in Ballan sometime before 10pm on Friday, when a passer-by noticed the wreckage.
The local woman, 48, was found dead at the scene and police are appealing for witnesses as they try to determine the exact time of the crash.
