What Victorians want from the state budget

WHAT VICTORIANS WANT

* Victorian Chamber Of Commerce and Industry - tax reform:

"Use the upcoming 2016-17 state budget to lift the payroll tax threshold from $550,000 to $850,000 to keep Victoria competitive and encourage jobs growth."

* Tourism and Transport Forum Australia - more big spenders:

"Victoria is in the right position after years of building its visitor economy to give NSW a run for its money in attracting high spending international visitors."

* Foster Care Association of Victoria Inc - the $4000 carer allowance lifted:

"(And) funding for more foster care specific training, and an increase to the Victorian foster care allowance."

* Ai Group - more deregulation:

"Reduce business costs through changes to taxation. Reduce regulatory burdens, including not repeating the two additional public holidays gazetted in 2015 for Easter Sunday and Grand Final Friday."

* Yes 2 Renewables - coal taxes to help coal communities:

* Australian Medical Association of Victoria - more GPs to keep aged care patients out of hospital:

"In Victoria this represents more than 3500 avoidable hospital admissions every year."
