Woman arrested after man fatally stabbed at Victorian home

A woman has been arrested after a man died from stab wounds following an alleged "altercation" at a home in Victoria's north-west overnight.

Police believe the altercation occurred at a home on Vincent Road in Wangaratta about 11.30pm.

The male victim was taken to hospital following the alleged stabbing but died several hours later.

A 47-year-old woman from Wangaratta has been arrested and taken into custody, where she will be interviewed in relation to his death.

Police will allege that the two individuals were known to each other.

A crime scene has been established, and detectives are investigating to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
