Victorian man killed by freight train

A man has been killed by a freight train in central Victoria.

Police say the 19-year-old Hastings man was laying on a pedestrian crossing on Saturday night when he was run over by the train in Bendigo.

Police will await the coroner's report to see if alcohol was a contributing factor in the man's death.
