Victorian doctor sexted patient

A Melbourne doctor who repeatedly texted a patient with requests for sex is still practising medicine despite his behaviour being officially deemed professional misconduct.

A Victorian Civil and Administrative Appeals Tribunal panel last week found Glenroy GP Hassan Alkazali promised to help his vulnerable female patient get a disability pension while sending her dozens of messages and phone calls of a sexual nature.

The Age reported on Saturday afternoon the case of Dr Alkazali, who continues to practice despite a long history of complaints, will return to VCAT on February 22 to determine his penalty.
