Victorian criminal escapes police custody

A 22-year-old man is on the run after escaping police custody while visiting a hospital in Melbourne's east.

Corey Ablett fled a Ringwood East hospital at about 9pm on Tuesday and Victoria Police investigators believe he could still be in the area.

The dog squad and the Air Wing searched the area for Ablett but were unable to find him.
