Victoria could beef up fire responses

Victoria could ramp up its fire-fighting resources as summertime temperatures arrive early.

Premier Daniel Andrews said the government was in talks with the federal government on increasing drought assistance, and bushfire fighting capabilities could also be increased.

"I've got an open mind to that and if the experts say they need more money, we need more resources, we need more air power then they will get that," Mr Andrews told reporters on Tuesday.
