Vic worker convicted of $190,000 fraud

A Melbourne bouncer has been convicted of fraud after he received almost $190,000 in workers compensation while continuing to work.

WorkSafe on Friday said Cedar Ferry was injured in 2008 while working at a Brunswick nightclub and received weekly compensation payments for six years, despite going back to work as a crowd controller in June 2010.

Mr Ferry was recently sentenced in the Heidelberg Magistrates' Court to six months imprisonment, suspended for two years, over the $188,680 fraud.
