Vic woman escapes from home captivity

A woman has escaped after being held captive in a Melbourne home for days.

Police say she raised the alarm after she fled her Lilydale home at 7.15pm on Tuesday.

A 35-year-old man, believed to be known to the victim, has since been charged with unlawful imprisonment, rape and intentionally and recklessly cause injury and will front the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
