Vic travel agent says sorry to clients

A Victorian travel agent accused of stealing more than $200,000 from his holiday-making clients has issued a public apology.

Jordan Dittloff, 27, handed himself into police last week after his family reported him missing and there were complaints from clients who had paid for holidays that were not then booked.

Dittloff was not required to enter a plea when he appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday, where he faced 36 counts of theft allegedly occurring in Colac earlier this year.

His lawyer Ian Pugh has issued a statement to the Colac Herald published on Wednesday.

"My client wishes to apologise to his former clients for his actions and will continue to co-operate with the criminal justice process," according to the statement.

Dittloff was bailed to return to court for a committal hearing in September.
