Vic train workers sacked due to safety

Victoria's public transport union has hit out at Metro after the train operator sacked five employees, citing safety breaches.
Rail, Tram and Bus Union state secretary Luba Grigorovitch says the "heavy handed decision" to sack the track maintenance workers days before Christmas did not address systemic problems.
"Metro must do more to ensure proper processes, education, and training are delivered to workers in order to address safety issues in the networks infrastructure maintenance department," she said in a statement on Monday.
