Vic traffic cop on theft charge

A Victorian traffic policeman has been charged with theft following a crash while he was off duty.

The charge relates to a collision in Deer Park on August 1 last year, but police have not stated what it's alleged the leading senior constable from road policing command stole.

He has been suspended with pay and will appear in the Sunshine Magistrates Court on October 5.
