Vic terror-raid teen imported weapons

A Melbourne teen arrested during anti-terror raids which foiled plans for an Anzac Day attack has admitted importing knives and tasers from China.

Mehran Azami, 19, of Narre Warren on Monday pleaded guilty in the Melbourne Magistrates Court to 19 charges relating to the importation of more than 200 weapons.

Police prosecutors previously told the court Azami was the "weapons supplier" to two other teens who have been charged with terror-related offences after their arrest during the same raids.

Court documents show customs officers intercepted parcels addressed to Azami containing trench knives, knuckledusters, extendable batons and Tasers designed to look like iPhones between May 29 last year and May 5 this year.

One parcel intercepted on April 7 was labelled "keychain" but contained sixty knuckle dusters, according to court documents.

A parcel from Hong Kong was labelled "camping tools" but contained six butterfly knives.

Azami was arrested in pre-dawn raids on April 18 which also collected two other men, both aged 18, who have been charged with conspiring to commit an act of terror.

Police allege Azami was importing weapons for the pair "as part of their pursuits prior to and up to Anzac day".

Azami did not apply for bail.

A further three summary charges have been transferred to the Victorian County Court.

He will face a plea hearing at the Victorian County Court on October 22.
