Vic teens under fire for AK-47 prank

Three Melbourne teenagers under fire for a prank which sees them shooting a fake AK-47 at unsuspecting victims say they haven't crossed any boundaries.

Videos of the pranks were uploaded to social media on Tuesday and depict the three teens in traditional Middle Eastern attire pointing and shooting the fake gun at people across Melbourne.

In the videos, which includes one with a young girl who looks frightened, the teens play gunshot sounds through their speakers making the attacks seem realistic.

Rebeen Jalal said a team of lawyers had briefed him and his two brothers on what they can and can't do.

"It's dangerous, but we know our boundaries," he told 3AW on Wednesday.

The teens from Mill Park, who operate under the social media name Jalals, also took to Facebook on Wednesday to explain their actions.

They also posted a photo of themselves with the young girl shown in their video and said she was caught up in the prank by mistake.

"We felt as bad as anyone would and made sure we spoiled her with lollies and a gift, and made sure she was happy and smiling with us all," they posted.

Victoria Police has condemned the videos and say they cannot comment further because of an ongoing investigation.
