Vic strip club workers underpaid thousands

A Melbourne strip club underpaid its workers thousands of dollars by not paying them weekend and public holiday rates.
A random audit by Fair Work Ombudsman found the strip club, which has not been named, failed to pay 22 hospitality workers $12,600 in penalty rates.
Ombudsman Natalie James said the business made an incorrect assumption that paying staff an annual salary on a pro-rata basis would be sufficient to cover penalty rates under the Hospitality Industry Award.
