Vic sex absconder recaptured

A convicted sex offender who escaped from a correctional facility in central Victoria has been caught in Melbourne.

Mana Lumm was arrested by police at a home in Richmond on Friday evening, police said on Monday.

The 20-year-old had absconded from the correctional facility on July 27.

"He was taken into custody without incident and is back behind bars," a Victoria Police statement said.

Lumm has been charged with escape, criminal damage and assault with a weapon.
