Vic scammer steals thousands from victims
AAP
An aggressive fraudster is calling Melbourne residents and telling them they'll be arrested unless they pay money to the Australian Tax Office.
Police in Box Hill have received a number of complaints about the scam, targeting victims in the Whitehorse area.
The caller claims to work for the tax office and tells victims arrest warrants will be issued unless they repay debts via Western Union transfer. Some vulnerable victims have lost thousands of dollars.
