Vic restaurant murder accused faces court

A man charged with murder for allegedly stabbing a partygoer at a Melbourne restaurant has faced court.

Milos Novakovic, 29, is accused of killing 31-year-old Deni Dimovski during a brawl at Korzo Grill House on Gourlay Road at Caroline Springs early on Saturday.

He is charged with murder, trespass with intent to assault and affray.

About 30 people were partying at the Macedonian restaurant when another group arrived about 2am, sparking a fight, police said previously.

Mr Dimovski died at the scene while his alleged killer fled.

Novakovic briefly faced the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday.

The Caroline Springs resident was remanded in custody and is due to reappear for committal mention on February 12.
