Vic prisoner chokes on seatbelt

A man found unconscious while being transferred in a van between two Melbourne courts has been released from hospital.

The man was in the back of a transfer van en route to the Melbourne Magistrates Court when staff noticed a seat belt around his neck at 10:20am on Thursday.

After being taken to hospital in a stable condition, the man was discharged and taken to Melbourne Custody Centre.
