Vic premier not interested in Packer

Victoria's premier says he's not interested in which political party billionaire casino mogul James Packer supports.

Mr Packer last week said he won't get involved in the Victorian election, after close friend Lloyd Williams told Opposition Leader Daniel Andrews that Mr Packer would "kick every goal" he could for him.

Premier Denis Napthine said he was not interested in which party Mr Packer supported.

"I'm not interested in ... whether he's supporting Labor or Liberal or whatever," he told ABC Radio on Monday.

Dr Napthine said Mr Packer was satisfied with the government's deal with Crown Casino, extending its licence to 2050.

"I will stand up for Victoria whether it's dealing with James Packer, whether it's dealing with the federal government, whether it's dealing with anybody," he said.

A proposed annual levy on Crown's gaming machines was dumped in August in favour of lump sum payments in 2014 and 2033.
