Vic police officer fires gun at car

An officer has fired his gun multiple times at a stolen car that rammed a police car in Melbourne.

The gun was fired at the vehicle on Elgin Street in Berwick about 4.30pm on Thursday.

The stolen car was then driven off and police pursued it.

The car was found dumped in Rowville without the driver.

Police believe the man driving the car might have been injured at some point in the ordeal and urge anyone who sees someone who might require medical attention in the Rowville area to call triple zero.
