Vic officer knocked out, man's jaw broken

Two men have gone on an alleged rampage through a Victorian town, knocking a police officer unconscious and breaking a man's jaw.

The Mooroopna men, aged 19 and 26, were charged on Tuesday after they were allegedly involved in a brawl in Mooroopna on Sunday, before the 19-year-old punched an officer in the side of the head, knocking him out.

Police say the men then ran from the scene to hide, damaging a number of properties and assaulting a Mooroopna man, breaking his jaw.

Both men will appear at Shepparton Magistrates' Court on May 1, charged with various assault offences.
