Vic murder trial witness dodges questions

A star witness against the man accused of murdering Melbourne underworld figure Graham Kinniburgh has refused to answer questions in court on the grounds he may incriminate himself.

The convicted drug trafficker told the murder trial for accused killer Stephen Asling that he had never made a false statement - but later agreed under defence questioning that he had once signed a false statutory declaration.

On Friday in the Victorian Supreme Court, the witness refused to say whether he had lied to the jury and said he "couldn't remember" signing a false statement.
