A $60 million funding injection from the federal government is needed to get an important medical research building off the ground, the Victorian premier says.
The state has committed $60 million to the Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery at St Vincent's, with the hospital raising a further $60 million.
Premier Daniel Andrews says a $60 million commitment from the federal government will ensure the project leads the nation in medical research.
