Vic man stabbed for borrowing tools: court

A father of three accused of stabbing his neighbour with a machete seven times because he didn't return some tools has been denied bail by a Melbourne magistrate who deemed him a danger to the community.

Gon Do, 39, of Sunshine is charged with offences including intentionally causing serious injury and assault for allegedly attacking his neighbour, before driving the victim to Sunshine hospital, where he underwent seven hours of surgery.

Magistrate Luisa Bazzani denied bail, saying, "This act was spontaneous, unprovoked and very grave in consequence."
