Vic man knifed after attempted carjacking

Police are hunting three woman who stabbed a man multiple times after an attempted carjacking in Melbourne.

A 26-year-old man offered the women a ride from Richmond to Sunshine North on Thursday night before they threatened him and attempted to steal his car when they reached their destination.

The women then stabbed him a number of times before he ran from the scene and called an ambulance.

He remains in Sunshine Hospital in a stable condition with non-life threatening stab wounds.

The car has been recovered but police are yet to locate the women.
