Vic man injured, another arrested

A man is in a critical condition after he hit his head on the rear tray of a moving ute in country Victoria.

A 41-year-old man was airlifted to The Alfred hospital after police were called to Windermere, near Ballarat, because a man had fallen and hit his head as he attempted to get onto the rear tray of the ute.

The 29-year-old driver was arrested at the scene and remains in custody.
