Vic man dead 'after crashing bike'

A man found dead in a Melbourne creek may have crashed his bike and fallen into the water, police say.

The Wantirna man, aged in his 40s, was reported missing after he went for a bike ride in Dandenong on Sunday and didn't return.

His body was found on Monday morning in Dandenong Creek and police are investigating the possibility that he crashed his bike and was thrown off into the water.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
