Vic man charged over O'Connell murder

A Melbourne man will face an out-of-sessions hearing accused of murdering Thomas O'Connell, whose body was found in a burnt-out car in Victoria.
Firefighters discovered the 32-year-old in the front passenger seat of the vehicle, which was just off the Hume Freeway in Wandong early on February 5.
Police on Thursday charged a 37-year-old Mernda man with one count of murder.

The arrest comes just days after police said they hoped for a breakthrough in the case from dashboard camera footage.
The accused man is expected to face an out-of-sessions court hearing on Thursday afternoon.
