Vic man bailed on historic sex attacks

A Melbourne man accused of sexually assaulting a woman and a toddler almost 30 years ago has been released on bail.

The 52-year-old Epping man has been charged with sexually assaulting the 21-year-old woman and two-year-old boy in Springvale in 1987.

He was arrested on Wednesday and was granted bail in the Melbourne Magistrates Court.

The man is facing 16 charges, including two counts of aggravated rape, abduction, sexual penetration of a child and trespassing.

He will face court again for a mention hearing in October.
