A Melbourne man has admitted to killing a father of two in a rage over parking.

Christopher Orfanidis, 33, pleaded guilty in the Victorian Supreme Court on Wednesday to killing Phi Long Ung at Ardeer on July 5, 2015.

He also pleaded guilty to causing injury to Mr Ung's friend.

Mr Ung never regained consciousness after being beaten during a road rage incident on the Western Ring Road.

Police have alleged Orfanidis struck Mr Ung in the head with a firearm and bashed him as he lay on the ground, furious he had parked near his home after being told not to.

Justice Lex Lasry on Wednesday remanded Orfanidis, of Sunshine West, in custody to face a plea hearing on June 26.
