Vic level crossing removals fast-tracked

Victoria has fast-tracked the removal of eight suburban level crossings, meaning the state will have removed 28 in four years.

Tuesday's state budget will feature an $846 million commitment to bring forward the removal of the extra crossings, which will now be completed by November 2018.

"We have set a cracking pace removing level crossings and we won't let it slow down," Public Transport Minister Jacinta Allan said on Wednesday.
