Vic Labor gains on Canberra mess: Newspoll

Daniel Andrews is in a commanding position as preferred premier and Labor has a winning lead ahead of the November 24 Victorian election, the latest Newspoll shows.
Victorians have been swayed by the turmoil in Canberra, the poll published on Tuesday by The Australian indicates, with Labor opening up a 54 per cent to 46 per cent two-party preferred lead.
Mr Andrews is ahead as preferred premier on 45 per cent compared with Opposition Leader Matthew Guy on 29 per cent, while Labor's primary vote is at 41 per cent against 39 for the coalition.
